Eliminate Credit Card Debt On Your Own!
It seems everyone with a credit card these days has one thing on their mind: How in the world do I go about getting rid of this awful debt? We all want to eliminate credit card debt, but at the same time we are all convinced that doing so is a virtual impossibility - unless of course we have the money to pay for credit counseling services, when many of us do not.
Eliminate credit card debt on the cheap
If you are serious in your mission to eliminate credit card debt - and it doesn't take much experience with credit cards to know how bad such a debt can be - then all you need to do is follow these three steps:
- Stop using credit cards right now! there was never a person who got rid of their credit card debt while still leaning on credit cards in the process, so ditch the habit. Go cold turkey. Remember cash.
- Consolidate if you can. Most of us want to eliminate credit card debt because the interest rates are so danged high - get rid of the rates, and the debts becomes significantly less of a problem. If you have a home, take out an equity loan and consolidate those debts. If you don't own, contact your bank about their available unsecured personal loans. If you can find a good low rate, borrow away.
- Stick to the plan. Even if you are successful in your attempt to eliminate credit card debt, you still run the risk of falling back into the same habits and winding up in a similar position somewhere down the road.
From here, it seems incredibly easy to conquer and eradicate our debts once and for all, but in actuality this plan takes a lot of work and perseverance. Most of us will only find the energy when we pay for a service, when we know our money is on the line and our chance to eliminate credit card debt is only partially under our control.
